Wink of Pink - #10 Brights

I've decided to showcase some of my IDS finds throughout the week so for now, here is a little brightly hued pink.
I've been missing the wink.

Kitchen Sneak Peek

I thought I'd show you a little sneak peek of my kitchen plans.

As part of this preview, I have to tell you about the most exciting part of the whole thing.
In a very fabulous turn of events, the incredibly talented Meredith Heron has begun work on my kitchen.
I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am...her portfolio and obvious passion for design is beyond amazing.
Every meeting we've had has reaffirmed that we're totally and absolutely on the same page.
In one of our first exchanges, Meredith described the look that she thought I was going for by saying that the kitchen "needs to have a curated feel, New York Brownstone meets Parisian Pied a Terre shipped to you via London England."
Yes, she had me at hello.

I'll be documenting and sharing the design process as it develops.
For now, here's a little preview of what we have so far.

Vintage murano glass and lucite lighting, snakeskin banquet, metallic wallpaper on the ceiling over the island, marble countertops and back splash, pink leather on gold vintage dining chairs, chinoiserie panels on either side of table, and a pair of x benches.

That's just the start boys and girls and I am DYING over the whole thing.
I can't wait to share the whole process with you.

As for today, I'm off to the design show again.
Will be back tomorrow with a full report.

Saturday Shopping - Blog Style at COCOCOZY

COCOCOZY is quite simply a staple in design blogland.
Known for her fresh and modern style, Coco's keen eye for all thing stylish is always apparent in her posts.

A lawyer by trade, she is a lover of design and always has the pulse on what is chic.
Taking this passion to heart, Coco has created her first collection of linen pillows, home accessories and furniture, which is a true reflection of what she calls, 'Cococozy Style.'

COCOCOZY

The textile based line is graphic but still soft and shows a versatility that would allow each piece to be at home in both a traditional or contemporary setting.
Bold colour, modern prints, fresh style.

Beautifully designed, this line manages to be both fresh and timeless.
A winning combination to be sure.

Happy shopping everyone!

Media Preview - IDS

I've recapped the gala party and now it's time for a little behind the scenes look at the
Toronto Interior Design Show 2011.
Taken during the Media Preview, here's a look at all that was happening just 24 hours before the grand opening.

And PS, I've decided to leave out any commentary on this one...let the photos do the talking, if you will.

A huge thank you to Jennifer and  Faulhaber for including me in this fabulous preview.

I'll be back on Monday with a detailed wrap up of everything I saw and loved at the show.
And if you happen to be in the Toronto area, you simply must head over and see all the gorgeous with your own eyes.
It's pretty much a design stalkers utopia.

Gala Night

I wanted to post a little something from the big gala last night.

Because my head feels a bit like an empty filing cabinet at the moment, I'll save the real reviews for when my brain begins to actually function again.
For now, some fun party pics.

And Chassity, the wardrobe stuff is for you ;)

I wore a chiffon and gold sequined dress from Club Monaco, which ended up being a little/lot shorter than I wanted/expected- it was actually more like a shirt than a dress but thank god for the opaque grey tights.
The pink coat was a vintage number that I just recently rediscovered- I'm not sure how I forgot about a pink coat but thankfully, it's now heading straight back into prime circulation.
The hit of leopard was of course, my favourite clutch from Cory Renee- got many compliments on that one and it's definitely my go to flare.
I also had jewelry from Stella&Dot, Jacob, as well as a few vintage pieces.
My shoes were little camel bootie numbers and as much as I loved the look of them, I don't think I'll ever subject my poor tootsies to their particular well trained form of torture again- my baby toes are still numb and it's been at least 12 hours since I blissfully took them off....terrible.

Moving right along.

Our night started with a tweetup party and dinner organized by designers Meredith Heron and
Sonya Nesbitt-Kinkade....and PS, they did an amazing job and are both insanely talented.

The soiree was attended but too many amazing people to list but here's a hint to the fabulous...do the names Margot Austin, Arren Williams and Tracy Moore ring a bell????
And a PS on Tracy, she came with her Citytv film crew in tow- I'd rather have a root canal...I mean, I can't wait to see us all on TV.
In any event, it's fair to say that I was in divine company.

The dinner itself was at the gorgeous Nota Bene restaurant, here in Toronto.
The food was out of this world delicious.
I started with a duck salad that was like Christmas morning in my mouth.
The whole thing was a total yum fest.
And now the good stuff- here's some photos of the festivities.

{Vanessa, moi, Ana, Arren  ...and by the way, holy horchata that I'm sitting at a table beside Arren Williams...and talking to him no less- crazy for coco puffs}

{Michelle, Ana, Christine, Lisa}

{hello Steven & Chris- dying over this one..and PS, these two are so adorable and Steven might just be the most beautiful man I've ever seen in real life}

Do you like our end of the night shots- we fancied ourselves so creative on those ones ;)
And speaking of photos, you can check out the Style at Home blog for some great professional shots of the evening.

Oh, and I have to mention one of the highlights of the night for me.
I {while practically accosting her to comment on the gorgeous necklace she was wearing}actually met the designer of Biko  jewelry. I was prattling on about how I 'knew' the designer and it turned out to actually be her- too funny.  In any event, Corrine is a gorgeously charming girl and her jewelry is even more fabulous in person.

So there you have it...my big night on the design town.
Beaucoup fun!!!
